White House Letter: President gets lecture from the Christian left
International Herald Tribune ^ | MAY 23, 2005 | Elisabeth Bumiller

Posted on 05/22/2005 7:17:31 PM PDT by baystaterebel

WASHINGTON It's that time of year again when President George W. Bush turns up around the United States in sumptuous commencement robes, assures thousands of college graduates that a C average does not preclude the presidency and urges them to go forth and do good.

Calvin College, a small evangelical school in the strategic Republican stronghold of Grand Rapids, Michigan, seemed a perfect stop this past Saturday for the president's message. Or so thought Karl Rove, the White House political chief, who two months ago effectively bumped Calvin's scheduled commencement speaker when he asked that Bush be invited instead.

Another example of the media abetting the democrats by making Republicans to look like they are in the pocket of snake charmers and fanatical religious zealots.

The Onslaught Begins!
As of this writing the so called Main Stream Media has begun an onslaught on the President, and his faith based intiatives, as well as a direct attack, on our military's procedures.

Newsweek as we all know by now, has retracted a story about the troops of America in charge of islamic prisoners, at Gitmo, flushing the book, the Koran, bible of billions down the toilet.

As it turns out the story is false. Hunreds of thousands' of Muslim's have rioted over the story, and people have died. No apology, just a retraction.

The new Star Wars Movie, is incorporating, opposing views, in the film to the U.S. policies on the Iraq War initiative.

Warren Beatty, is now the lead player in California against the relection of Republican Governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger. He is actually trying to get traction to run against Arnold, and has been enrolled to the Council on Foreign Relations. He is attacking everything Republican, this is the guy that starred in, and promoted the movie Red's, from the communist point of view.

Hallmark Channel allows the so called, Faith and Values Media to run a documentary on May 22, 2005, ripping the faith based intiatives of the current White House, as a kin to the Islamic regime of Iran.

Get ready folks, the left wing is spreading propoganda, lying, getting caught, with no remorse, and more of the same planned for the upcoming elections.

We must prepare for the truth to counter this untruths and lies, by posting the truth here.

Elisabeth Bumiller is mentally ill. Her performance at the Newsweek fraud daily presser with Scott Mcclellan was spectacularly disgraceful.

Yeah, I was about to ask the same thing - they're the "religious left"; who knows what religion.

As far as I know, no one's pointed out this fact yet. Recent polling suggests that college professors voted Democrat (or Nader) at an 85% clip last year. The fact that only one third of Calvin's professors signed that anti-Bush letter suggests that Calvin's faculty is inordinately weighted towards Conservatism.

If you want a good laugh, look back at some of her articles from last October - November. She was going batshit.

Uh...OK, I'll bite, what's Christian about the left?

Are they the pro-abortion "Christians"?
The pro-euthenasia "Christians"?
The pro-gay marriage "Christians"?
Or, just the ones who believe that personal giving must be sponsered by the State? (hint: that would be socialists)

[The letter said, in part: "Your deeds, Mr. President - neglecting the needy to coddle the rich, desecrating the environment and misleading the country into war - do not exemplify the faith we live by." The following day, Bush was greeted by another letter in the same newspaper signed by about 100 of 300 faculty members that objected to "an unjust and unjustified war in Iraq" and policies "that favor the wealthy of our society and burden the poor."]

Ah, yes. The Religion of The Left-- Socialism.

These zealots preach to us that we must demand the government bring us their sacraments of Wealth Redistribution, Collectivism, Welfare Statism, Pacifism, and The Minimum Wage.

Can I get an AMEN, Brother Karl?!!

Vernon Ehlers (R-MI), the first physicist in Congress, taught at Calvin College. Apparently, he developed a reputation as an outstanding teacher there.

Calvin College is an educational institution of the Christian Reformed Church (CRC).

Calvin College is a comprehensive liberal arts college in the Reformed tradition of historic Christianity. Through our learning, we seek to be agents of renewal in the academy, church, and society. We pledge fidelity to Jesus Christ, offering our hearts and lives to do God's work in God's world.

As shalom suggests a sense of peace, wholeness, and harmony, of restored relationships with nature, other humans, and God, Christian college education equips us to be agents of shalom, models of shalom, witnesses to shalom.

Our curriculum emphasizes the natural, cultural, societal, and spiritual contexts in which we live; our teaching respects diverse levels, gifts, and styles of learning; and our learning proceeds as a shared intellectual task.

We affirm the confessions and respect the rich traditions of Reformed believers worldwide, and, in particular, those of the Christian Reformed Church.

Congratulations.

It is theoretically impossible to be a left-wing Christian.

also theologically impossible...
