I had Kaiser coverage from birth, but after they screwed up surgery on my foot after a climbing accident when I was in High School, I never returned. It has been private doctors ever since. You get what you pay for....
WHY Is It, that in ANY OTHER "Field of Endeavor," we seem to Understand this Fact;--Yet, when it comes to "Medical Care," we simply CANNOT ungerstand that "Supply & Demand" STILL APPLIES!!
There exists a HUGH proportion of "Medical Care" which is Done, "Gratis;" but the Costs Remain. The "HMO's" calculate EVERY LAST PENNY of Their "Overhead."
The "Doc's" bill for Their "Services," but they Also "Treat the Indigent--'Gratis'".
No One "Reimburses the 'Doc's" for their Free Care.
At a Guess, I would estimate that 15-20% of Medical Care is Delivered FREE-OF=CHARGE!!
WHO PAYS FOR THIS "FREE CARE??"---NO One;== the 'Doc's do the care, "Gratis", "ON THEIR OWN!!"
I Guarantee that the "Insurance Companies" have "Calculated In" the "Free Care" rendered by "The 'Docs'"!
I Further Promise You, that WHEN the 'Doc's elect to Charge for their "Free Care," the "Insurance Companies" will MASSIVELY increase their "Premiums!!"
Do you Wonder WHY the "EXECUTIVES" of an "Insurance Company" make TEN TIMES what a 'Doc Makes??
