Well, in Washington D.C., there are many who have jobs because of their political affiliations. Politics doesn't stop when they clock in.

"I sometimes think that much of what we see in MSM "journalism' is the leading edge of the products of our ever-failing educational system, wherein indoctrination has supplanted education, where laziness is rewarded over hard work, where self-esteem is promoted over accomplishment."
You forgot such other important journalistic skills as office sycophancy, unrelenting liberalism and labeling mainstream co-workers as reactionary.
You absolutely can't get these people to realize that while they vote in a minority and you vote for people who get elected that they are out-of-touch and you are mainstream. Believe me, I tried. It cost me a chance at an editorship. I'm better off now but this was in the years just prior to the expose of CBS.

I, too, am wondering about the source. I can understand the journalistic principle of protecting a source, but when it is found to be an out and out lie that results in the death of people are they still to be protected? It is akin to shouting "fire" in the theater, would the guilty person not be prosecuted? Is there not some degree of responsibility for the outcome of such behavior?

I should think so. One would have to wonder if that was the intent of the "source" or the journalist.

Well, I understand that everyone wants to have his or her own people working with him/her. However, everyone has the responsibility to make sure that their employees are qualified and honest. If they are not, then they must be dealt with appropriately.

Well, why not? At least, why wouldn't the Republicans behave responsibly?

There have been more than a few who have been bad boys over the years. And there will be more.
