In spite of Baldwin’s Communist leanings, President Jimmy Carter awarded him the Presidential Medal of Freedom on January 16, 1981.

Well, you know what they say about birds of a feather.

Yeah, no kidding. This poor guy is going to get run out of town on a rail. (not to mention sued by the ACLU)

Actually, there are a lot of us.

Although I suspect the author is "spot on" about the ACLU, he doesn't provide footnotes/sources for some of his claims about it. I think citing sources is really necessary in this day and age of so much disinformation brought on by the internet. For instance, he says: The ACLU’s official policy statement reveals that the intent of the ACLU (like the Communist Manifesto) is to undermine the moral fabric of our society. I am looking for proof of this in their policy statement, but don't see it so far.

Now, I would've had no problem if he'd said, "The history of the ACLU's influence has shown that their aim is to undermine the moral fabric of our society."!!!!!

Policy numbers 239 and 242 state that the ACLU is opposed to the death penalty – even for the most heinous murderers.

Until they gain power, when the death penalty will be imposed for everything--such as exercising free speech and the civil liberties we used to have under the Constitution.

Something interesting I discovered in my search for their "policy statement" is that they have a FORUM on their website (see links along the bottom of their home page), and the forum has a LOT of anti-ACLU members arguing with pro-ACLU members. Pretty interesting that they allow free expression on their website!!

The goal of the ACLU is extra-governmental action to destroy American society.

"...necessary in this day and age of so much disinformation brought on by the internet"

The good thing about the internet, is anyone who really wants the truth can go source information themsleves. As opposed to the massive disinformation the mainstream media has been serving up by the truckloads for more than a little while now. :)

What you say is true, monkeywrench. I think, though, that if you are an author wishing to be authoritative and enlighten people, it would be more effective if you provide sources. That would automatically send the message that you are willing to back up your statements and are not exaggerating or hedging. JMO, 'cos I know it works for me as a reader who only wants to be told the truth.
