Political associates of US Secretary of State Condi Rice ar e stirring the pot on her behalf.
While she takes the high road, they are pushing her name out there.
'She definitely wants to be president,' said one.
But the friend added, Rice isn't planning on quitting [as Secretary of State] to run.
'She wants to be drafted,' the source said.

Then we shall always live in fear of the next Roe vs. Wade just as we would have had to fear another Dred Scott vs. Sandford had the 14th amendment not been ratified after the Civil War. We must therefore always be vigilant against allowing the Republican party to drop its opposition to abortion. Sec. Rice or other pro-abortion candidates must not be permitted to win the Republican presidential or vice-presidential nomination.
George Allen is a rapidly rising star in the Republican party. Though he is just beginning to be widely known by the rank and file, polls of Republican Insiders show him as the likely front runner. Rush has been talking very favorably about him recently.
With this ticket I think we can take out McInsane effectively in the primaries (a must!)
And in the general election with this ticket, I think we can win and put down that evil witch, Hildebeast. Then the Klintoons' political life is finito!
You are getting caught up in the whole name game of Clintons and Bushs and Dems and Republicans.
What are Condi's position on the issues?
If she is a leftist on many issues then it doesnt matter if she or Hillary win because either way a Leftist wins.
Could you be more specific please?
I'm always interested to learn from those wiser than myself.
Somehow, Dr. Rice being a 'leftist' doesn't quite follow in logic...so you tell me.
You there, boy...I said Answer my phone, not sit at MY desk....
Exactly right. The Presidential primary system rules out the possibility of a draft candidate or brokered nomination unless the the other candidates don't have a majority going into the convention.
The Warner thinking about running for President is Mark Warner, the current Dem governor. Senator John Warner will be 81 in 2008.
Comparing Condi with Ike is a bit of a stretch. Ike was the Supreme Allied Commander who led his nation to victory in the biggest war in history. Condi is no Ike. She has similar qualifications as Herber Hoover, the other successful GOP candidate who never held elective office.
It also would raise massive fundraising problems for the Dems.
The other problem for the dems is that she is personally liked by the democratic insiders in washington. Which will make it hard for them to personally attack her. They will have to hire Sharpton and Jackson to badmouth her, which will show what schills they are. Which we would be able to exploit in amazing ways.
Everybody is "pro-life", except for a few wacko cults like the Jim Jones outfit. But there's a wide range of differences in how people define that, and when they think exceptions should be made to the general bias. Some people are so "pro-life" that they don't think there should ever be a death penalty, no matter how vicious the crime someone has committed. Some people consider taking a pill to prevent a zygote from dividing and implanting, to be "murder", but many of those same people favor the death penalty. The Bushes call themselves "pro-life", but they probably don't mean the same thing you do when they say it -- and in fact the record indicates that the two of them each have somewhat different definitions. They get along well anyway.
What have you seen?
The few times I've seen him, he's seemed as exciting as a bowl of mashed potatoes.
Can someone without some TV charisma win in today's media world?
Thune in 2012!!
well technically I will be eligible in 2016, but I will be busy being governor of Ohio right then :)
FYI: Karl Rove says he is not going to handle another presidential campaign.
I'll tell you why some people on here won't vote for her. She isnt a Constitutionalist or Tom Tancredo.
That's the only reasons. They would be the same people saying they quit the GOP just about every thread these days...
