We have people in jail here in the USA for their thoughts, via the War or Drugs - "Intent to distribute" or how about our "Hate Crime" laws where the race of the guy you pistol whip during a robbery makes a difference in the crime you are convicted of.
How about the War on Terrorism? A guy sitting in a truck waiting for a plant to open is questioned by the local cops, lets see the truck is sitting there waiting for the plant to open, and the cop asks what are you doing here sitting in this truck waiting for the plant to open? The truck driver sitting in his truck, waiting for the plant to open, replies that he has a load of explosives and that his Bic Pen is the detonator, (REALITY CHECK - If someone truly had an explosive device - they would not readily admit it and give up the secrete detonator.) The local cops never learned that if you ask a stupid question you might get a stupid answer, so their anger at being embarrassed by a mere civilian, prevented them from determining that he was sitting in his truck waiting for the plant to open. They wanted to make an example of him to Respect their Authority, thus he is in an American Reeducation camp. [Further more if these cops knew their beat, they would know what places routinely took deliveries, and could of merely opened the conversation by asking the driver if he knew "what" he was going to deliver when the plant was to open.]
