glad y'all liked the minirant - it's been percolating in my melon ever since Bubba dropped that whopper of a dodge.
On abortion, for example, a "right-wing" judge could very easily say the right to life outlaws abortion. An strict interpreter would say the Constitution is silent on abortion so it's a matter for the States, or respectively, the people.
The Democrats say the President us pushing "right-wing" activists while the President has said, but not forcefully communicated, that he wants stict interpretation.
Perhaps he'd have greater support if this were clear.
Sportsmen need a rifle or shotgun to hunt, then you're correct/mainstream. But if you believe everyone should own an arsenal,and carry S&W Sig in your pants then you happen to be a right wing wacko.

In one of my classes we were having a gun control debate. I was leading the pro gun side.
It's so funny, because one of the anti gun people said that their team felt it was alright to own a hunting or sporting gun- just not a criminal gun.
I said " You can't rob a liquor store with a hunting rifle?"
idiots.
