I absolutely agree with you.
And .. they WANTED THE STORY TO BE TRUE. Which is exactly what CBS did too. In their LUST to damage or embarrass the Bush admin and our military - THEY DIDN'T CARE IF THE STORY WASN'T TRUE.
Chris Mathews asked Howard Fineman, "Is it possible that this story COULD BE true?" Fineman's replied, "Yes, it COULD BE true."
I heard this exchange myself and could not believe such disgusting pap for public consumption. Fanning the flames of rumor, they continue to WISH that it's true.
