MOSCOW - A Russian village was left baffled on Thursday after its lake disappeared overnight.
NTV television showed pictures of a giant muddy hole bathed in summer sun, while fishermen from the village of Bolotnikovo looked on disconsolately.
It is very dangerous. If a person had been in this disaster, he would have had almost no chance of survival. The trees flew downwards, under the ground, said Dmitry Zaitsev, a local Emergencies Ministry official interviewed by the channel

I am thinking, well, America has finally got to us, said one old woman, as she sat on the ground outside her house.

<> North of Kingman, there is an area on the maps called Red Lake. About 20 years ago, they talked of storing natural gas in the salt caverns that are under it. I don't know why the idea died. Almost 30 years ago, a local indian (Wallapai tribe) told us that the indians lived near the lake and had done so since the beginning of time. He said that they woke up one morning and the lake was gone. I don't think that it was known that the salt caverns were under it when he told Bill the story. Once one knows of the salt caverns, then his simple story is so easy to see that it could have happened, as the spoken history had it recorded. Imagine, wake up and the lake is gone. It covers a large area, it isn't a little one.

I guess none of them came to the conclusion that it may have finally sunk into some sort of cavern.

I just have to shake my head and laugh about the America finally go to us quote.
I can't figure out if the Rooters reporter included the quote in the story for laughs, irony or to show the idiocy that exists.
Maybe they've just become so used to quoting moonbats on the left that they don't even blink at that stuff anymore.
