NEW YORK -- TV reporter Arthur Chi'en has been fired for shouting the "F" word at two hecklers during his live report at a subway train station.
Chi'en was doing a story about Metro Card scammers when two men began shouting about radio shock jocks Opie and Anthony. The two hecklers were making obscene gestures behind the reporter. Chi'en kept talking and when he finished his report, he turned to the two hecklers and said "What the (expletive) is your problem."
Chi'en thought he was off the air, but apparently the mike picked up the obscenity.
With the FCC cracking down on obscenity, Chi'en was fired Thursday.
He said he's sorry and he apologizes to anyone who was offended.
Fans of Opie and Anthony are reveling in Chi'en's firing. They have mounted a campaign to annoy TV reporters.

LOVE IT!!!
Sounds like he pulled a "Larry O'Donnell".
I am sure there must be two bigger turds on radio than Opie & Anthony. But I can't think of who they might be.
But still...it's sorta funny. Too bad that guy got canned. Always make sure the mike ain't "hot" when you feel compelled to say something, well, colorful.
Hey, this guy is trying to do a job. If someone came into your office when you were trying to get some work done and started shouting and making obscene gestures and dancing around and whatnot, you'd probably be pretty upset, too.
I'm surprised that he only dropped one F-bomb. I'm also surprised he apologized--I think my response would have been something like where they could stick it...
The FCC should have given him an award. Two rude bores heckled him while at his work and he gave them a proper set-to.
See B S and Newsweak are suddenly touchy; it reminds one of the Demoratic convention, cursing the people.
I was highly offended, and I DON'T accept the man's apology. Now what's he going to do about it?
The only reason shock Jocks are on the air is that they are accepted and cheered on by even a lower class individual than they are.
The FCC is a monster.
There's not too much he can do about, now.
He should've tried to embarass them in an interview.
I once saw an outtake from FOX where a couple of dorks were doing this to Brian Wilson (to be accurate, they were just getting in his shot and acting silly, not obscene). He stopped reporting and said something of the effect, "If you don't knock that off, we're going to go round and round". They meekly left. It was hilarious.
Like the old saying goes..."Live by the PC sword, die by the PC sword".
No sympathy here...
You got that right. If someone showed up in the studio while they were doing their show and started shouting and hollering and heckling them, I doubt they would find it too amusing.
The ignorant are easily entertained.
That's just the point. He wasn't in his office, he was on a subway platform.
When news critters do on-camera reports from public places, especially in the subway system, they should expect it these days, and take hekling in their stride. This guy even learned in reporter school to ignore heklers, but he just couldn't help himself.
