Priscilla Owen, 50, is one of the more talented women of her generation. She finished third in her class at Baylor Law School. She had the best score in the state on the Texas bar exam when she took it in 1977. Her performance as a judge on the Texas Supreme Court has earned her the highest rating from the American Bar Association. It's the sort of career that liberals promoting the advancement of women should swoon over. But Senate Democrats are blocking her nomination to a federal appeals court, not just because she is supposedly too conservative, but because she is too female.

opps..... typo correction,,,, I meant,,,, too Female.
Not surprising. It reminds me of the woman who once said to me, "I find it despicable that you're a Republican. You're a woman!" Translation: Women can do anything they want, except think for themselves.
Some folks don't want to live on the Liberal plantation, I guess.
Same line used for Blacks that stray from the liberal Democratic reservation....
He/She's not black enough.....
For a party that supposedly hates labels they sure through them around enough....
NeverGore
She is too qualified to be qualified.
Proper response...
I found it despicable that any woman, black or Jew can be a democrat.. without wearing a bag over their heads..
Good one! ;)
DemonRats would consider a rabid monkey qualified if it could be depended on to vote the way they want.
Ellen Goodman had a column on this today, and I sent an email and I raised this same issue: how does she, a white woman, justify telling a black woman how to think? I told her that she acts as if she OWNS blacks, and that whether she likes it or not, slavery was abolished a long time ago. I also told her I'd love to see her in a public debate with Owen and Brown. Then we'd see who's smart and who's an "extremist."

Liberal Democrats are perfect examples of the descriptions of envy and malice in a book I am reading by the title of THE TYRANNY OF MALICE by Joseph H. Burke.
Page 13: "The sensational press provides some of the best source material on envy, usually to condemn it. Remarkably few scientific books or papers document the emotional havoc and implacable conflicts caused by sheer hate. Some major British and American journals of anthropology and sociology have not carried a single reference to envy, jealousy, or resentment over periods of nine to fifty-two years. And in the indices of two major studies of human aggression and destructiveness, one didn't mention envy at all (or greed or jealousy), and the other mentioned it only once. Yet when you talk to people they are always aware of envy, usually in others. I think that envy is to modern times what sex was to the Victorians, an obsession best forgotten, denied, or avoided. In 'The Parson's Tale,' Geoffrey Chaucer wrote: 'It is certain that envy is the worst sin that is; for all others sins are against one virtue, whereas envy is against all virtue and against all goodness.'
And, I would add that Democrats having been trying to institutionalize envy for a long time..This battle against Priscilla Owen is rife with it..
