Agreed. The real winner in last night's vote was the Bloc. With the constant drip of Ad-scam revelations to follow, the Liberals position in Quebec will only get worse. Prime Paul Martin bought time for his government but he probably sealed the break-up of the country. There some things money can't buy - not even national unity.

You are right to a point. But increased immigration into Quebec is diluting the proportion of separatists in the population. Only if a referendum is held in the next few years, with Adscam still fresh, can Quebec ever hope to separate. I, for one, hope they do. Confederation, in my opinion, created a schizophrenic nation that once defined itself as bi-cultural: French and English. After Trudeau, English Canada has acquiesced to Quebec's emotional demands AND has adopted multiculturalism that destroyed the remaining pride of the rest of Anglo Canada.
