NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) Heres news that will light the fire of Jim Morrison fans: A filmmaker claims The Doors frontman is alive and raising horses on a ranch in southern Oregon.
Rodeo photographer Gerald Pitts insists Morrison didnt die in July of 1971 and he has current photographs and film footage of the rocker to prove it.
Pitts, who met Morrison in 1998, says the rocker staged his death because of a French conspiracy to kill him, Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix with narcotics because they were all Vietnam war protestors.
These days, Morrison isnt the drug user he once was, although Pitts says when he goes over to Jims house hell maybe have an occasional beer.
Now Pitts claims that Morrison is announcing hes alive, in part, to promote his recent agreement to star in a rodeo shoot-out movie based on events that actually happened to Pitts.
Pitts whole story airs on A Current Affair tomorrow (May 20).
And then there were the "Paul is dead rumors."
That you Jim?
Lee Marvin is still alive too. He bought a small bar in costa Rica...: )
They took out the Rainbow Warrior, so anything's possible.
He was damn hot -- but if this guy in Oregon is really Jim, then he hasn't exactly aged well.
I second that.
Wow, really wierd. Jim Morrison's mouth (lips) is unique... interesting (or very telling) that the guy who's supposed to be Morrison, has his mouth hidden beneath that facial hair growth.
He's kind of a cross between Kinky Friedman and Ian Tyson these days.
LOL, I was too young to listen to them when they were around the first time but I watched the Doors movie once. Once. The classic rock station will play their music every once in awhile. Immediate cause for station change. I never saw what people liked so much about their music
Morrison's nose was more Roman and pointed than the fake guy's as well.
I was a big rock fan during the late '60s and I do not recall any of those three (Hendrix, Joplin, Morrison) ever saying a word about Vietnam. Certainly not like David Crosby or John Lennon, to name just a couple of the louder anti-war activists.
Morrison was sort of hot looking... this old duffer never was ... I can tell...lol.
LOL! Very funny! LOL!
Their noses look to be a fairly good match imo. Both have been broken and are displaced to the right.
Am I a pilgrim, or another souvenir hound?
In the city of lights, I set my sights on a king's domain
It was a manhole dug over at the edge of town
And a spray-can scrawl on a cemetery wall said 'You'd better behave'
Jim Morrison's grave
It's getting cold here and there ain't a lizard in sight
Did the end begin when you shed your skin in the home of the brave?
Somebody shake him from the land of larger-than-life
Where the remnants warn of a legend born in a dead man's cave
Jim Morrison's grave
I stay driven 'cause there's nowhere to park
I can't shut my eyes - I'm afraid of the dark
I lie awake, that stone left me chilled to the bone
Sound the alarm before it's done
Find Jim Morrison
Come away to Paris, let him see another day
Let him fade out slowly, only fools burn away
Let a true love show him what a heart can become
Somebody find Jim Morrison
Find Jim Morrison's grave
I get weary, Lord, I don't understand
How does a seed get strangled in the heart of a man?
Then the music covers like an evening mist
Like a watch still ticking on a dead man's wrist
Tick away

Taylor says, "A stream-of-consciousness graveside meditation on the folly of dead-rock-star worship, and speaking of Kurt Cobain - who was, I think, far more honest and far less cruel - when anyone takes an unblinking look into the well, if they don't find living water, they'll find nothing but a black hole. I assume Kurt Cobain could only see the latter. Some wonder what causes so many people to commit suicide. I wonder what causes so many people not to. Everyday I'm convinced afresh that apart from God, nothing makes sense."

I've never heard that before. I have always felt guilty for liking him - assuming that he was a hippie loser. Do you have a link?
Hendrix was a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne, circa 1962. The site says nothing, however, about his political views, or what they were.
thanks
