I suppose it would get a new name if it made it across to the Caribbean?

No, I read today the hurricane will retain it's original name.

Thanks, Gabz.

BTW, these are the folks I bought my generator from last year:

USALight

I was extremely happy with their service, though I did wish they had emailed me when my unit shipped.

Placed the order on a Sunday (after Charlie) and I received the generator on Tuesday, even though it was expected to arrive Wednesday. Maybe they just felt sorry for me. :-)

If you want a generator that is quiet and that can provide solid, steady power for computers, Yamaha is one to look at. Honda is another good one. There are probably others but these two kept coming up when researching generators and computers.

One thing I learned during my last power outage is that you can lose power and still have access to your cable. So for those of us on cable modem/TV, there is a chance that the cable survived even if the power went down.

Makes sense, I just never thought of it :-)

Great!!!!!!!!

I'm glad it's not tonight :) - I'm going to go keep a date with my pillow - FReep at you tomorrow (or the next day..........)

wouldn't it be great if we go to all the trouble of getting a good ping list going and then NOT have to use it?

Ran my smart mouth and the mod gave me a right hook and then....

"Down goes Frazier, down goes Frazier, down goes Frazier"

LOL!

Sometimes I'm not as funny as I think I am.

Thanks for the link - I will pass it on to hubby - he's in charge of that kind of stuff :)

I understand what you are saying about the cable - but it does NOT apply to where I live. The very first thing that goes out here is the cable, followed shortly by the phone. Electricity seems to be the most stable utility I have.
