I've read that Coleman type generators only last about 500 hours.

Also, in planning, you might want to double the estimated needed wattage, since I believe they only provide
1/2 the the rated current at any given time.

Wait until June 1 thru June 12 for the Florida Tax Holiday on hurricane supplies. You will save a bundle on a big ticket item like a generator.

Here's a link from an Ivan thread, maybe we can find the ping list on there.

I just checked back through all the Jeanne threads and didn't see a list.

I can't access the earlier hurricane threads, maybe we should post a vanity and ask if anybody has a hurricane ping list from last year?

Think the Admins will allow it?

Weird. Direction is also weird. Don't ever remember one this early and I'm almost sixty.

Always considered anything before the second week in August an early one.

The peak is usually last two weeks of August and first two weeks of September.

I wouldn't think the water temp would be warm enough to support one.

I didn't even think hurricane season officially opened till sometime in June.

This doesn't bode well for what looks like a looooooooog season ahead of us.

Ah. I live in Wa State. We've never had one hit here. I'd always thought that Pacific=typhoon, Atlantic=hurricane.

Me, too! My parents are in the Orlando area. They were lucky in last year's hurricane barrage.

Hopefully this storm will have dissipated by the time we locate the leftover tracking map from last year!
