You're nuts. Joan of Arcadia was quality. And unlike "Touched by an Angel," it wasn't simply syruppy pseudo-religious pabulum, but contained tough, spiritual lessons.

I enjoyed a few of the episodes, but got pretty irritated with the artsy-fartsy side of it and the "boyfriend" who wore woolen hats portraying the sad, gifted obscure artist in youth.

I have to disagree with you here. I tried watching that show a couple of times and it was just too tainted by Hollywood. Primarily, I could not stand the way they had the bratty Joan always sass-talking to God. In the real world, if any of us found ourselves in the presence of God, we would be in awe, even if we had previously been nonbelievers. In the alternate universe where Hollywood resides, however, teenage girls talk to God as if He is an annoying distraction from their real purpose of shopping and makeup.
Also, Touched by an Angel made more sense in that angels were the ones guiding the minutiae of people's lives, rather than having God, Himself, intervening because Joan's brother has a case of the blues.
