News Guild Prez: US Troops Killing Reporters (TRAITOR ALERT!)
NewsMax ^ | 5/19/05

The president of a group representing reporters worldwide is accusing U.S. soldiers of committing atrocities without offering any evidence to back the charge up.

Appearing in St. Louis on Friday, Newspaper Guild President Linda Foley complained:

"What outrages me as a representative of journalists is that there’s not more outrage about the number, and the brutality, and the cavalier nature of the U.S. military toward the killing of journalists in Iraq.” In case anyone missed the point, Foley restated her allegation:

"They target and kill journalists…uh, from other countries, particularly Arab countries like Al -, like Arab news services like Al-Jazeera, for example. They actually target them and blow up their studios with impunity…”

Foley's remarks, which were aired Wednesday night on Sinclair Broadcasting's "The Point," drew outrage from the program's host, Mark Hyman.

"These completely irresponsible remarks speak for themselves," Hyman told his viewers. "Foley should immediately deliver evidence that supports her horrible allegations or she should immediately resign as Newspaper Guild president."

The Sinclair host added: "Unfortunately, the damage may have already been done. Her remarks could lead to further bloodshed, including against Americans."

Foley's comments echo those from former CNN news chief Eason Jordan, who was forced to resign earlier this year after leveling similar charges at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

Dear Bimbo Eruptus:

I resent your accusation that American military are targeting only journalists, when it is widely known that they attempt to kill all living things.

Just because they don't succeed in batting 100% doesn't make them bad people.

Sincerely,

I. Don Giveadamn

When liberal journalists are actively aiding and abetting America's foreign enemies, they are no longer journalists, they are spies - and therefore targets.

Doesn't bother me a bit.

If you are on the battlefield, you are in danger. However, stupid, if you are on the battlefield and point anything at the troops your risk of being shot goes up dramatically!

Fred Barnes said he asked Peter Jennings and another reporter if they would warn American troops of an impending attack. Jennings said he would warn troops but changed his mind when the other reporter said no.

Keep in mind that Linda Foley is actually a union president and that the Newspaper Guild is part of the CWA. Go to their web site and you will see, very up front, a pull down on their "human rights" activities.

This person is not a reporter but an ideologicaly driven union Marxist.

If this were true, I would be at a US military recruiter’s office first thing in the morning!!!

Actually, I believe the "journalists" are be targeted by Muslims who, in turn, believe that the "jornalists" or their colleagues in Damascus, Teheran or Cairo have sold the Israelis information which has lead to the assassination of Hamas memebrs/leaders. I think I read this in a recent Newsweek.

Our soldiers have quite enough to do without also protecting journalists. Personally, I think it would be an effective tactic to track Al Jis reporters. Whereever they go, a bomb or ambush is sure to follow. Be a real shame if the counterstrike happened to wipe out the journalist too. No, wait, it would be poetic justice.
