Nazis were never the "right."

The right in Germany in the 1930s were the monarchists and the Catholic Centre party. The center in 1930s Germany were the democratic socialists. The left were the National Socialists and the Communists.

Nothing the Nazis stood for - except for a strong armed forces, which the Communists wanted as well - is recognizably conservative.

Additionally, scummy fake scholars like Daniel Goldhagen do not help the situation when they claim that all Germans in WWII were enthusiastic and willing murderers.,p>

Also, may I just point out that although never has a people committed such a great crime against humanity in human history, it must also be remembered that never has a people done so much to try and atone for that crime.

The center party was, unsurprisingly, in the center. Duh. Revisionist pap. The cleavage did not run socialism or non-socialism - only a tiny slice was actually liberal which was the only non-socialist position in economic terms. It was state-nobility-army vs. party-union-factory - and everyone understood where the Nazis were. On the far right. Projecting modern cleavages back just falsifies all history - it is like asking whether the Ghibellines were Republicans or Democrats.
