I go back as far as those Hank Stram/John Madden blood sport games.

Ditto.

Man, that was football. Buck Buchanan, Ben Davidson, Marv Hubbard, Curly Culp, Willie Lanier, Art Shell, Bobby Bell--those guys didn't take any crap off of anyone.

If those games were played now, half the team and the coaches would be facing hefty fines.

I recall one game (sometime in the period 1969-1971) when the Chiefs and Raiders had a bench clearing brawl, baseball style. The field was littered with black and red players beating the crap out of each other. The network went to a commercial break, and when the break was over, the brawl was still going on.

I seem to remember the announcer using the word "pandemonium" a lot.

The Raiders, KC, Denver and San Diego have given the most bang for the buck on any given Sunday when they play each other.
