Ya, and in Europe, the Church looks the other way. Some rules are of interest to the Church, and some are not. It seems to depend on the facts on the ground, often.

Are you Catholic? Just because the hierarchs in Europe neglect their duties, doesn't mean we Catholics in the US should be lax in persuading our leaders to do the right thing.

Much of old Europe is a cesspool of hedonism. Why should we take our moral instruction from them? You think this stuff goes on in Poland or the Republic of Ireland with the Church routinely looking the other way? Or is France the only country that counts with you?

By the way anybody who wouldn't trust somebody specifically because he is not an adulterer is a jackass.
