I still don't understand what the "deal" would be - but it sounds like what it would mean is that this group of moderate Ds and Rs would agree to scuttle some of the nominees - by agreeing not to vote for them.

In other words, all nominees would go to a floor vote - where this group of senators would have agreed in advance whom to approve, and whom to reject. That would involve, for example, a group of Rs not voting for Janice Rogers Brown or Owens. I can't see this "deal" playing out any other way if it happens.

"don't understand what the 'deal' would be."

I do, and without even knowing the details. A "deal"
between Republicans and Democrats is a mugging of Republicans by Democrats. Always a bad idea.

Sounds like the earlier 'compromise' that was floated last week which was turned down. Doubt any compromise will be reached- both sides have already gone on record as "the fight is on".

Well--if that is the "compromise" it sucks, and it better not happen!

One deal could be that there are a few on the list who can't get 50 votes (not sure who that would be). If that's the case make a deal to have the Pres pull them and let the rest through.
