I concur, in fact I came up with this same analysis about a week ago and posted it. (I'm too lazy to go find the link.)
BTW, I think Sen Hatch is a much more engaging speaker than Sen. Chambliss. Though what the Georgia senator was important but his delivery is way too much like reading.

I think Hatch needs to get angry and stay angry more often - that's when he's most effective. Otherwise, he begins to sound a bit too conciliatory. However, when he's angry - he's more deliberate in expressing his thinking. As when a mtoher begins to speak with a controlled voice to a misbehaving child.

BTW, I think Sen Hatch is a much more engaging speaker than Sen. Chambliss. So do I. However, recalling the late-night debate over Miguel Estrada, I fear that Hatch talks a good game but always folds when the time comes.
