Welcome, all you Freepers, to the continuing C-span soap operas about judicial nominations. "The Guiding SEARCHLIGHT, " "As the SENATE Turns, "One NOMINATION to Live" "GERIATRIC Hospital" (for all you Byrd and Lautenberg fans out there). Follow along with us, as the Dems raise the level of histrionics, bloviation, pontification, and all around bad acting to new highs, er, lows...
Well, McCain and Graham, so they say. I wonder who the other ones are.
I will make myself watch Matthews; this is just his cup of tea -- divisiveness.
Thanks...if I didn't have a reason to live, I'd take my life now...
Damn Graham. he has an election in '06 doesn't he? I guarentee he'll LOSE IF HE TRIES THIS. he's attempts to raise our taxes through Social Security are bad enough but this will be unforgiveable.
They absolutely CANNOT dump Saad unless Reid is censured! If they do and Reid's remarks stand, people WILl think there is something in his FBI files!
Remember this from four years ago?
"Patty, you ignorant slut!"
Sen. Patty Murray, the Not Ready for Prime Time Senator (D-Wash), told a group of high-school students in her state that the U.S. should adopt Osama bin Laden's nation-building tactics.
Murray said bin Laden has been "out in these countries for decades, building schools, building roads, building infrastructure, building day care facilities, building health care facilities, and the people are extremely grateful. We haven't done that."
What the dishonorable Ms. Murrary forget to mention to these students was bin Laden's trading hundreds of millions of dollars of cocaine for money to build terrorist training schools (she left off the adjectives "terrorist training" from schools), for armaments, and funding hijackers in flight training schools so a bit of "nation destruction" can be mixed in with his "nation building".
Ms. Murrary also failed to mention that even if bin Laden had built some schools, what women attended? Women and were not allowed to attend schools under the Taliban.
Day care centers? The women were forced to stay as slaves in the confines of their huts. What day care facilities were needed when the women could not go out on the town once in a while by themselves?
The only bridges bin Laden built were the ones crossing some river separating the opium fields from the ports where bin Laden traded cocaine for armaments. There are rumors that he may have also traded cocaine for some WMD components.
Ms. Murray added that "we haven't done that" to her statement about bin Laden's "nation building". A fact finding perusal on the White House web site would show the tens of billions of dollars that George Bush has dumped into the black holes of global welfare since 911, in addition to forgiving debt by many of these nations. The United States also is the major funder for the IMF and the World Bank. Check out those gargantuan grants (loans today, canceled debt tomorrow--you know the routine) given to these nations for "infrastructure, schools", and other sham purposes. The fact the money is wasted or socked away into dictators' Swiss bank accounts is not the issue. The point is that the money the United States gives away for this "nation building" is even bigger than Murray's lies.
It sounds like the dishonorable Ms. Murray got a hold of some bad opium from bin Laden as her nonsensical anti-American rant was idiotic even by liberal socialist standards.
"Its been a good day here and I think in the end the Republicans are going to win this one."
Republicans won this one. The LIbs are going to filibuster, the Republicans are going to change the rules, te MSM will say the Republicans invoked the nuclear option and put all their "out of touch" judicial nominees in and the Republicans are going to take 5 more senate seats in 2006.
This can all get done tomorrow and they can then get back to spending our money on pork.
bwhahahahaha
Unfortunately, McVAIN has the vote locked up for the rest of his nature life...bummer! This cat would be extremely difficult to defeat in coming elections! What say you AZ folk? :[
NO NO NO WE need you! We need you to stand with us!
He's been saying that a lot this past year. He's the one who was counting the Democrat personal attacks against Bush during the campaign, and then their complaints about the nastiness of the Bush campaign.

What the hell is he doing in there? He wants voters to think he is a centrist when he owes his soul to Hillary Clinton and NARAL. If not for them he would still be prising around Little Rock, Arkansas and worshiping at the halls of the Clinton LIEbrary.
Patty Murray can't even fake looking intelligent. Honestly for some of these people, I think they should be forced to debate extemporaneously. Senators like her can't put a sentence together that their aides haven't written beforehand.
There would be a promise of no nuke option from the Pubs and 4 judges confirmed with Owens and RB amongst them.
Patty Murray-Dummy, Washington is up flapping her lips now...I'm SO SICK of these demonrats!! I just got done watching one of my demonrat Senathores lie his face off...the 'rats have NO AGENDA but "HATE BUSH, HATE AMERICA, HATE the MILITARY, HATE Christians, they have NO PLAN for energy, social security etc...they are PATHETIC!!! They LIE with NO consequence!!!
I sent FRIST an email last week..here's what I got back:
Dear Friend:
Thank you for contacting me regarding the judicial nomination process. It is an honor to serve in the United States Senate.
As Majority Leader, ensuring that President Bush's judicial nominees receive fair treatment is one of my top priorities. Each of the President's nominees that has been brought before the full Senate has been well-qualified and deserving of approval. The Constitution's "advice and consent" clause clearly gives the Senate the prerogative to accept or reject any of the President's judicial nominations. Unfortunately, a minority of Senators are using Senate rules to stop the confirmation of many of these nominees and thwart the will of the majority. Before the minority's unwise and dangerous filibusters, no judicial nominee with majority support had ever been denied an up or down vote in the Senate. We must restore civility to the Senate and return to a tradition of over 200 years -- giving judicial nominees a fair vote.
I have already taken several steps to address this attack on our Constitution, Senate history, and the judicial system. On June 5, 2003, I proposed a narrow change to Senate rules that would prohibit long term filibustering of judicial nominees. On November 12 - 14, 2003, I held the Senate in session for almost forty straight hours the longest continuous debate in over 10 years to force the minority to defend their actions. On April 28, 2005, I proposed holding 100 hours of debate before a vote on each nominee as a way to end the impasse by allowing ample debate but finally allowing each nominee the courtesy of a vote. This proposal also ensured that no judicial nomination could be indefinitely delayed in committee. However, this balanced and fair approach was dismissed out-of-hand by the minority in favor of continued obstruction.
Please visit my Senate website at http://frist.senate.gov for further information regarding the judicial confirmation process and history. Rest assured, I will continue to fight for fair treatment of the President's judicial nominations in the 109th Congress. Anything less is unfair to the nominees, the President, the integrity of the judicial system and the American people.
Sincerely,
William H. Frist, M.D.
Majority Leader
United States Senate
SAAD, Pryor, Owens, Brown and the rest have our full support. If the RINO's think they can dump any of the nominees they are living in a fantasy land I can't reach. the only thing that will register with them are the election returns of their opponent winning.
"Democratic Senators are the nerds who never grew up."
No, they are the nerds who took money from NARAL, ACT and Emiliy's list so they cvan stay in power.
They sold their souls.
In a word, no.
Here is the deal: up and down votes and no nuke.
I agree with that but lets not believe there is a deal until it is actually announced. If there is one then I will agree that many of the Republicans are not worth saving. But not at this point.
