At last. She has come to the floor for a vote. This is better than a good wine.

Wasn't that great?
Brownback: Is there any objection? If not, we will move forward.
Kennedy: I reserve the right to object later.
Brownback: You cannot do that. Yes or no, do you object?
Kennedy: Silence with a grumpy look.
HAHAHAHAHAHA!
To: Soul Seeker

Kennedy just went on a tirade and got stuffed by the floor rules. What an ass!
Nominees with majority support should get a vote. That only makes sense BECAUSE the Senates responsibility to advise & consent is a constitutional requirement.

just wondering..what was your take on Coleman's hearing yesterday. Concensus is he was upstagedYou didn't ask me, but I watched yesterday and I'm positive tht my assessment that Coleman was masterful, (and don't forget Carl Levin--he was very good in his question period), is correct.
I also want to point out to all that Congress did not call Galloway. They released a report last week that named him and others as recipients of illegal oil allocations and Galloway wanted this appearance. He did not get the full Committee, he got Coleman and Levin and a panel preceding him of investigators laying out the hard cold facts.
Yes, Galloway was entertaining. But he's in trouble now. More than before he blustered his way over here.
To: Soul Seeker
Kennedy got shut down!!Hugs and kisses to Sam Brownback.

For such a seasoned Sen. Kennedy should know that there's no such thing as a reserve to object. He was rightly told that by the Chair!

Sen. LIEBERMAN (1-4-95)
The gentleman from the Congressional Research Service used a powerful analogy here. He said to me, `Senator, you have to think of the Senate as if it were composed of 100 nations, each Senator representing a nation, and each nation has an atomic bomb and can blow up the place any time it wants. And that bomb is a filibuster.'

To: Cosmo
I thought it was Trent Lott. In any event, it's finally here if the Dems try to filibuster Owens.
This is effectively Frist's first presidential campaign speech.
