You may be thinking of the time he put a hit on Kerry Collins (Carolina) in the pre-season and broke his jaw. Everything about that hit was dirty. It was a late hit with the top of the helmet straight into Collins left jaw. It was very much a "Tatum-like" hit, only far less legal.

Yeah, I'd mixed the two events.
I still think Romanowski was a loser - on and off the field.
