Some in Hollywood care about our troops!
Must be C List celebs..never heard of them...but anyway good on them

My son, while in the gulf aboard the USS Lincoln, saw Wayne Newton at a USA show on board. He also, because of his duty assignment, got to visit with him briefly. He had nothing but positive things to say about him and the others who appeared on his ship.
Gary Sinise and his Lt. Dan band have also toured in Iraq.
Hat's off to them for doing the right thing!
My thoughts exactly. "Lois and Clark" has been in syndication for whow many years, now? And I've never heard of the chick.
And, since it's all part of a movie promotion, it's not really supporting the troops - thats just collateral.
Sorry about that.
I can't recall the source but isn't Gary Sinise a Hollywood liberal too?
Nonetheless, I'm glad to see him do his part.
Gary Sinese is actually not a liberal.
I am not sure of that. His political leanings may not be fully in line with conservative ideology, but I have listened to interviews of the man, regarding his tours of Iraq (On Hannity & whazhizname), and his heart seems to be in the right place.
I don't like Wayne Newton as an entertainer, but the man sure shows up at the right places at the right times.
If you ever get a chance, rent the movie "Truman".
Gary Sinise does the most incredible portrayal of Harry S Truman.
I really believe that Sinise should have been nominated for an Oscar for his role.
They are few, but there are some good ones in HollyWeird!
Amanda Swisten: Morale booster?

What -- no Burkha? '-)
I'm not sure about his political leanings....probably conservative. I did see an interview he gave and he stated that he has been active in supporting our military since the early '80s as he had family members who had served our country over the years. Bye the way, Wayne Newton recently received the Silver Helmet Award from the American Veterans Organization (AMVETS) for his support of troops over the last twenty to thirty years. "Danke Shoen!"!
For the right reasons.
Can't see it - censors, you know...
Who else?
I think there is a fairly large number of celebrities who have visted the troops. A lot of them (surprisingly) don't make a big issue of it. Rightly they are there to support others and not to get in the news.
Wayne Newton is from the Golden Age of Stardom. THOSE people, if they didn't serve themselves like Jimmy Stewart or Ronald Reagan or Mickey Rooney did, helped support the war effort and boosted our morale.
Anytime one of that generation speaks for us, I listen. I despise Hollywood in its current generation.
Well, maybe not but many, many others do. He is popular with the Troops and considering their generation, I think that's great!
