I would just like to say that I am a member of Beth Gaddy's family.
Well which is it? This is obviously all written by the same person.
How alive is she? Mullinax knew, just like everybody else should have, that Mae was diagnosed terminal (less than 6 mos. to live). His efforts to gain control of her affairs just prior to death are obvious. Mae died before he could completely hatch his plan.
