The freedom of speech was a right for which much blood was spilt; it did not come easily. What the press desperately needs to remember is that it will be much easier to take it away than it will be to ever get it back. If they keep siding with our enemies, they will not find themselves in favor with the type of dictators that will be in charge--Muslim, perhaps, or Communist--either way, if this country is defeated, as they seem to want, they will find their heads first on the chopping blocks.

If you don't believe me, read some books on history--some as recent as the Taliban's rule of Afghanistan, some a little further back, such as Russia's Communist rule.

MR. McCLELLAN: Elisabeth, let me finish my sentence. Our military --

LEGACY MEDIA LIAR: You've already said what you're -- I know what -- how it ends.

Translation:

LEGACY MEDIA LIAR: We know what we're printing. What you say to me doesn't matter. Just stand there and shut up.

Are you asking them to write a story about how great the American military is; is that what you're saying here?

This sarcastic question on top of the well covered assertion that Bush murdered 100,000 Iraqis and 1,600 US Troops has caused me to realize that I am so far estranged from the "elite" in this country as to be myself Anti-American if they are ever back in control. Kill the Bastards. (I believe that they themselves have told me I am within my free speech rights in making such a statement -- or is it only when referring to Bush, Chaney, et. al. that I can make such a statement?).

So the mainstream media can't accept any pressure? What a crock. They've just admitted they don't deserve to exist. Almost makes me wish I had more subscriptions to cancel.

Gee...now all they would have to do is produce a soldier who claims he/she desecrated the Quran.

Setup?

The media is America's Al'Qaeda...the question is; what are the American people going to do about it?

Chalk this one up as proof that the Main Stream Media has an extreme liberal bias.

They can't handle that they got busted for lying....so now they have gone off the deep end.

Media....and lawyers......

McClellan has a tough job I couldn't do with a straight face.

After enough inane questions my responses to these White House distorters, er, I mean reporters would involve an "F" and an "O" and it wouldn't be a cheer.

It says something that she considers the notion so ridiculous as make it effective sarcasm.

Q With respect, who made you the editor of Newsweek? Do you think it's appropriate for you, at that podium, speaking with the authority of the President of the United States, to tell an American magazine what they should print?

I thought Newsweek's defense was that the Pentagon had the story for 11 days and did not confirm/deny it. It sounds like Newsweek was blaming the administration for not proofing their copy.

Now reporters are blaming the administration for acting like editors?

The White House press HATE Bush, and now they are fighting for "one of their own", like a mother protecting her child, so I would expect nothing less than a vicious attack on McClellan, which is Bush's stand in for their venom and tripe!!!

In times of war, trust no one. You'd think the mSM would figure that out someday.

Too bad the media didn't see themselves as mere mortals instead of demigods and above reproach.

If a Republican politican had screwed up, you better believe the liberal press wouldn't be making excuses for them.

The press just doesn't get it. They (the press) have greatly angered the U.S. military. The Pentagon spokesman, who is paid to keep a level head, was publically cussing out Newsweek. Since the spokesman is this angry, I don't want to know how angry the military brass is behind the scenes.

Afghanistan's government said Tuesday that NEWSWEEK should be held responsible for damages caused by deadly anti-American demonstrations after the magazine alleged U.S. desecration of the Quran.

Good, maybe if the press continues to makes enemies of those who seek freedom, we may start seeing some of the anti-american press sent to prison.

McClellan should have had let them have it with Abu Gharab and the 9/11 mess. Back during 9/11 the press was censoring themselves to avoid inciting the American people to committing violence against Muslims.
