The AP (addled press) is always getting that wrong. I guess they think since the Nazis are to the right of them, they must be right wing.

thanks for ping J.. this thread has a bit of the political thrown in for "fun"...
the tech help would be good (hint hint everyone).
I have AOL have been hit & have what I thought was outstanding protection. I today got the first german "stuff" from a FReeper I know. I know right now of about a dozen FReepers who are being victimized. Does anyone think that someone has possibly hacked into FR to get Email addys? I surely do NOT understand enough to know how it all comes about.

Do these emails have the subject Dresden 1945. I got several of those and just hit the delete key.

One might almost think they have an agenda, but of course we all know that's not true. Dan Rather told me so.

My computer was hit by this one over the weekend. I deleted everything from addresses I did not recognize and did not go to any of the links or websites.

You would benefit from reading F. A. Hayek. His book, "The Road to Serfdom," proves communism and fascism are truly only two sides of the same coin.
His book is short, clear, easy to read and profound.

The problem with viruses is that they may come form somebody you do know. If their computers infected, virus can use their address book to spread. Or, using address book, a virus can send infected e-mail to one contact listed in the book masquerading as another contact on the same book.
So, your rule is good, but has its limitations. There is no substitute for good defenses: religiously maintained high-ranking anti-virus program, plus anti-spam + anti-spy.
Oh, there are also some nasties like pharming and phishing: redirection to websites that are mimicking legitimate websites (but with nasty surprises), or making you enter sensitive info when you are made to believe that question is legit.
And when all set and done right, just stay lucky! :^)

Well put.
"plus anti-spam + anti-spy."
I got hit with one of these in Jan., it took over my desktop. The thing is it was from an anti-spyware co., in the end I had to reformat my hard drive.
