Whatever the Govt of PRC has in mind, they certainly lack the MILITARY means to be a threat except to Taiwan and her other immediate neighbours
Any Chinese PLA naval or airforce units that venture outside of 500 miles from her coast-line wil be "sitting ducks" for the USAF and USN
And can the PLA do the "million men 10,000 mile swim to California"?
Agreed but there is one thing worth noting. Destroying a superpower doesn't necessarily have to be achieved through military might. The USSR is a prime example. The US just had the political and economic staying power to wait until the aggregate of internal and external pressures caused collapse.
Fortunately, we recognized the USSR as an enemy and did not engage in beneficial trade agreements to help them fund their military and political ambitions. This does not seem to be our policy with China.

Agreed again. However it doesn't take a great stretch of the imagination to believe that they might wait until we are at war with yet another nation to "reacquire" the ROC. The administration is already getting beaten up by the media for the war we are fighting. Add a third nation (let's say NK) and then tack on the prospect of running out to defend Taiwan from China. It would almost certainly result in a draft back in the US and China will bank on our liberally inspired lack of will to take this necessary step.

LOL! That paints a funny picture! Who knows? Maybe they'll just ship their military here in cargo containers with "Wooden Horse" listed as contents on all the customs papers.
Really though, why would they want to come here any more than we now want to occupy Russia?
