The Fenway Community Health Center yesterday acknowledged its mistake in displaying a graphic safe-sex booklet for homosexuals at an event attended by middle- and high-schoolers at Brookline High.
``Fenway Community Health regrets accidentally making available a small number of copies of the `Little Black Book,' an HIV prevention publication for gay and bisexual men over the age of 18, at an event where young people were present,'' said Dr. Stephen Boswell, Fenway's president and CEO.
The superintendent of Brookline schools had asked the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Educational Network to follow policy banning the distribution of such material at the April 30 event.
``We thought we had laid out what were reasonable ground rules and that they weren't followed,'' Superintendent William Lupini said.
The Fenway employee in charge of the booth at the event did not realize the brochures, which depict gay sex practices, were on the table, Boswell said. http://news.bostonherald.com/localRegional/view.bg?articleid=83764
