Now we're getting somewhere. For years, members of Congress didn't want to go anywhere near the explosive issue of illegal immigration. Now, Capitol Hill is flooded with competing bills, each claiming to address the problem. They touch on everything from whether illegal immigrants should have drivers' licenses to whether their U.S.-born children should be granted U.S. citizenship. Some proposals are half-baked, and, frankly, some look like they never even made it into the oven.

Legal immigrants fueled this nation's growth,, illegal immigration will be its undoing.
What good are laws if they are not enforced?
David Dreier, huh? What's the catch?
"David Dreier, huh? What's the catch?"
Looks like Drier is trying to save his backside.
He either gets on board for real, not just retoric, or he's serving his last term in Congress.
This is such a common sense idea that I'm amazed that a couple of politicians finally figured it out.
If that bill should pass into law those same politicians will have to wait and see if the Black Robes on the SC declare it unconstitutional because it offends someone's sensibilities.
I won't hold my breath on this one !
Could be that Drier floated the bill to save his ass and already has the no votes counted.
Saved for later.
ALL RIGHT! BULLEYE! :D ..If there isn't any work available, the problem solves itself, the illegals must go Home, then Mexico will be forced to work on their economic problems themselves and forcing necessary reforms to happen...like cleaning up the corrupt legal/governmental system..like we need it here. :(
Yea! and I'll believe that ICE will go after the people who are employing these illegal aliens when hell freezes over.
If a law is passed, the penalties charged won't be high enough to change the minds of these employers. I think a starting penalty should be $50,000. per violation of the law. I think the illegals would soon find out they would not be wanted as much anymore.
