...and Volcker's committee accuses him of violating a confidentiality agreement. Last week Volcker claimed that Parton was covered by United Nations immunity and covered by THEIR confidentiality agreement.
What the heck kind of "probe" is that, Paul?

The report, from Democrats on the subcommittee of the U.S. Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs, found that Bayoil imported 200 million barrels over two years starting in September 2000 and sold it to U.S. oil companies. Though there is no evidence the companies knew about the kickbacks, they played a huge role in lining Saddam's pockets, the report said.
"We've got to look in the mirror at ourselves as well as point fingers at others," said Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich.
The report also tracked the billions of dollars Saddam made through direct exports outside oil-for-food, sometimes with direct knowledge of the United States and other members of the U.N. Security Council.
Levin is an idiot. The oil companies can't be faulted if they didn't know anything about the kickbacks. This is a jab at the oil industry IMO, except for possibly in the case of Bayoil.
Who knew about Saddam's exports and when did they know it?
Furthermore, why can't I get the italics to shut off in my HTML? LOL

Volker is using the "impressions" of 2 anonymous Iraqi ambassadors to impeach the credibility of the only witness who has tied Kofi to the contracts.
I wonder if Baghdad Bob is one of them?
This stinks!
I'd like to see the original interview notes to see if these impressions are noted.
Take a look at this post referring to a letter from Parton's lawyer.
To: NormsRevenge
"There was a lot of evidence that Mouselli could have given and they didn't want the evidence and they burned him as a witness," Gonzalez-Maltes said. This is exactly what happened!
To: robomurph
That should be Mouselli's lawyer, not Parton's.

And add the Newsweek editors to the treasonous group.
These people who work so hard from within our country to sabotage our military and the administration, need to be reminded daily that we will not forget.
And Sandy Berger (not to change the subject) gets his security clearance BACK just in time to steal more ducuments to aid Hillary in her quest.
As long as there are no consequences to their treasonous actions, their treasonous actions will continue.
To: NormsRevenge
While Kofi and son lie, lied, and continue to lie, people die, died, and continue to die in Iraq by terrorists, NOT INSURGANTS, NOT REBELS, TERRORISTS bombs!

Parton needs a new lawyer ASAP. Lanny Davis should not be his lawyer. Remember that Lanny Davis was a strong Clinton defender during Monicagate, and some on this site brought out reported Pakistani connections that he has. Lanny is a complete weasel. Would be surprised to see Lanny Davis represent his client's true interests here. Wouldn't be surprised to see Lanny serve the party whose politics he believes in over his client.
To: WarEagle
Hit the nail on the head. He needs to change lawyers immediately and give Lanny Davis the boot. Otherwise I think he will through some legal maneuver get the equivalent of a knife in the back from his own lawyer.
To: NormsRevenge
Volcker needs to be prosecuted and jailed if possible for his attempt at a coverup here.
Volcker's actions give all politicians a bad name.
Shows how the government betrays its duty to investigate, lies, and sweeps things under the carpet.
