This relationship ain't goin to work... You're a cat and I'm black.
I loved I Robot and it got bad reviews.
As a big Mamet fan, I'll jump in here. HOUSE OF GAMES, THINGS CHANGE and WINSLOW BOY I thought were all superior Mamet films in which he both wrote and directed.
The STAR WARS movies have grossed well over $1 billion worldwide. AMERICAN GRAFFITI, made for less than $1 million, made over $100 million worldwide. Also, Lucas was co-creator with Spielberg on the hugely successful Indiana Jones movies. George has made plenty of money from movies.
"Cuddling and foreplay? A Jedi craves not these things!"-Yoda on sex...."
No wonder there was only one. And who'd want to wake up next to another?
Who cares? At least it's almost over.
And with more lightsaber time than all the other films combined.
I just wanna see some limbs fly and Yoda get his "freaky green" butt whupped.
Come on, EVERYONE wants to see the lightsabers. Deny it, you cannot...
Johnny needs to chill out. It sounds like a deep seated resentment towards sci-fi geeks.
I'm as rightwing as they come and I know my son and I are going to love this film.
The thing about some reviewers is some are known for giving raving reviews just so they can have their quote published with the ads. Blah, Blah, Blah says, "This is the raddest movie ever!"
to be fair: the dialogue in ALL of the Star Wars movies has ALWAYS been cheesy.
I'm hoping for one thing only: jedi vs. imperial violence on a grand scale. Jar-Jar getting crushed in a garbage chute would be icing.
you sick fiend.
"Hold me, Anakin!" Padmé tells her husband. "Hold me like you did by the lake on Naboo!"
Ooooh. I wonder if he liked it.
I know that's how I want to look first thing in the a.m.
"I must say Miss Padme, he treats you like Bantha Fodder..."
I saw the movie at a local theater here last week. This is a very good movie. After all it is Star Wars, not Hamlet. It isn't about dialogue, it is about visuals. And they are stunning!! And it is rather powerful stuff between Obi-Wan and Anakin in the final duel. And the guy who plays the emperor does a great job. His lines sound like Shakespere.
Forbidden Planet STILL rocks. My kids love it.
It is amazing to see it, reflect that it was made in '56 or '57, and think of the nearly two decades of really mostly-poor SF movies that followed it as if FP had never happened.
A really good remake, one that took the pacing, acting, plot seriously and mostly upgraded the effects and ramped up the development and suspense, could be a lot of fun.
Dan
I have a question for you fans, I have never seen a Star Wars movie. My son now 9 wants to see this one, should we try to see the other episodes first to understand this one or can we get away with seeing this and understand the story?
that untalented clown that plays Darth Vader makes Keanu Reeves look like Robert DeNiro
Five beers would not get me to the movie! I'd have to stop on the way.
