Where have you been, in a cave?

Yep, that's exactly where I've been - thanks for starting a constructive discussion off with this brilliant question intended to slam me and my views! Taking tips from the DUmmies are you? (see how constructive these kinds of questions can be?)

These Islamofacists are always brutally killing people in the name of "religion and their God". Gee, ya think?

Most Muslim countries, thanks to the anti-American media (at home and abroad), are full of poor, ignorant, malcontent extremists who need an enemy to blame for their misery. Not unlike the easily mislead left in the US who are so busy patting themselves on the back for having the majority of brilliant college professors on their side along with the ACLU. I guess making this a "most Muslim countries" issue is easier for you to pander to me as some idiotic, clueless bimbo, right?

The last thing we need is one of our own news magazines creating more havoc while inflaming and encouraging more violence and American hatred. Completely agreed - however, I do not believe blaming the article for the violence (especially when a full retraction has been made) is right. Yes, Newsweek messed up, but so did Dan Rather - where were the riots, violence and death in the aftermath of that?

Do you want us to be at war with terrorists or all Muslims who are easily whipped into anti-American frenzies?Yep, you got me. How did you *ever* figure me out like that??! I am in awe... YOU, demkicker, are my hero!! /sarcasm

Needless to say, I do not respond well to someone questioning my intelligence for stating an opinion with which you do not agree (it is, in my mind, a very democratic tactic and in poor taste). What I value most about FReep is the intelligence of the overwhelming majority of the members, the recognition that we are, for all intents and purposes, on the same side and yet we are all fully entitled to our opinions even if they differ from the Sheeple mentality. But, hey, thanks for playing, demkicker!

Hey, I don't mind 'playing' at all. You make it too easy:

Your original comment was complimentary to Newsweek for publishing the article by doing "humanity a real favor by helping to weed out the gene pool."

Then you turn around and say:

"I do not believe blaming the article for the violence (especially when a full retraction has been made) is right."

Good grief, can you not keep up with your remarks from one post to another? And can you really NOT follow the order from when the protests and violence errupted because of the article in Newsweek? Geeze!

The protests took place AFTER THE ARTICLE WAS PULBLISHED AND BEFORE Newsweek's very delayed (and some would say forced) retraction.

As for this brillant comparison: Yes, Newsweek messed up, but so did Dan Rather - where were the riots, violence and death in the aftermath of that

I shouldn't dignify this moronic comment with a response, but since you can't seem to grasp the difference between the United States and countries full of radical Muslims, I'll try.

If you recall, Dan Rather, along with Mary Mapes and other cohorts at CBS constructed a hit piece which was full of lies about President Bush's National Guard service. CBS took falsified information from a guy who is a known enemy of the President and did not verify ANY of the accusations. Instead, they aired the false story using falsified documents.

In this case, Capagr1, CBS lied, but no one died. In fact, there were peaceful protests and demonstrations from Bush supporters who knew very well CBS deliberately aired the false hit piece on 60 Minutes right before the election in an attempt to defeat Bush. If ever there were a time to justify violence against the left and their media cohorts, this would have been it. But, we are different from radical Muslims.

We are more peaceful and civilized. We love and cherish life and freedom. We love and support our military, which is exactly why heads should roll at Newsweek.
