OK, folks..let's se what going to happen today as we move closer to the showdown in the Senate. Live, at 1 PM EST on C-span 2, "Searchlight" Reid is holding a presser to discuss judicial nomination. The Senate then convenes at 2PM, and as Majority Leader, Frist will make the opening statement. Then Reid will speak. Frist as pissed at Reid last week..for announcing a possible compromise on the Senate floor without FIRST telling him of it..and Frist has yet to speak about Reid's comments about FBI files. Should be fireworks..
Responsible Republicans!
What colossal nerve.
I did too. Like that would ever happen!
"Reid said that six Pubs told him they know he's right, but that they have to vote with their party!"
I guess it would be too much to hope they would convince McCain otherwise.
I read an op-ed by murkowski that didn't sound real good for us. She was saying that the senate institution is more important than party.
Then yesterday she was bashing the interest groups that are for the nuclear option.
Spector said bush shouldn't have re-nominated these judges.
Spector on the senate floor implored republicans to be independent that means that he doesn't want them toeing the party line. Spector said frist should ignore the interest groups. Spector said if the nuclear option happened it would be a disaster and we would all have to go home. Spector's vote on bork show what a kind of traitor he is.
Spector has no pressure from a election like he had against toomey and already has his chairmanship and rumors are he might retire soon.
I wouldn't trust spector as far as I could throw him.
Warner voted against Bork too. Warner loves minority rights bs and senate tradition bs. Warner is not to be trusted.
Hagel is the worst of all of them. I caught him on a c-span road to the white house where he was using the dem talking points on the fillabuster on how republicans had blocked clinton judges. He is a liar we had the majority then we didn't fillabuser them.
Hagel on cnn was agreeing with Carl Leven.
I have read that collins staffers have let it be known that she will vote with Harry Reid.
Time to punish these traitors take away their chairmanships but with all the rino's on their committee's who even knows if we have the votes to even do that.
Thanks for being so... (sniff, sniff)... understanding. Tell your mother I feel her pain. I finally had to go to one of those Perot-voter support groups to rid myself of the guilt.
We met every Tuesday evening for months for what we called the "Perot-voting Idiots' Support Sessions."
In keeping with our collective sense of guilt and shame, we called ourselves the Pissers.
("Nita, you are a worthwhile human being who has overcome the shame....")
Reid "Senate fiddling while the world burns"
Then moments later:
"I'm going to continue to talk and talk and talk"
It doesn't seem the Senate has wasted ANY time on judicial nominees this year, EXCEPT for the hours the democrats have talked about how bad the "nuclear option" would be.
He really is, isn't he?
Being PATHETIC/deeply saddened must be a criteria.
Georgia politics...nothing like it! thanks for the heads up on the obit.

Anything could happen, but I think Frist does have the votes. If the dems retreat from invoking the fillibuster, would that be evidence enough for you?
Hagel and Nelson are likely under pressure from their home state at the moment over the Judges decision throwing out their amendment on gay marriage. If no compromise can be reached, Spector will likely vote with his party.
Just my two cents.
Heck, my husband who never voted other the Republican party even made a mistake... he voted Carter over Ford. Don't be too hard on yourself.
Let's take a page from Mitch McConnell's book and refer to the Constitutional/Nuclear option as the BYRD OPTION.
Sounds to me like Fist spoke..didn't talk about judges, then walked off the floor while Reid whined, cried, ranted..very "disrespectful"..YIPPEE..a "dissed Frist is a pissed Frist"
It makes Parumph look like Paris.
Three MORE senate seats in 2006 will resolve a lot of those issues.
LOL! I'm assuming that his 'six' includes some of the RINOs that everyone's worried about. Unless he's outright LYING, which is a distinct possibility as well.
If Specter does indeed plan to retire due to health..then he might well vote against his party..
Arnold is definitely a RINO!!!
The conservatives here in CA are howling about him!!!
I know for sure that McCain doesn't care about the Republicans who voted for him and who he represents.
Which three are the most vulnerable?
