Where are their neighbors in this? Would'nt it be nice if neighbors came over to help with the lawn because this guy was in Iraq?

I just love Nosy sob's that can't mind their own business. Why can't the town leave the guy alone untill he acclimates to being back home.

It isn't a situation of "not good neighbors" though that is pandemic in our nation now. It is a view of the future should someone like hillary ever get in office. We can expect that with further government intrusion in our lives there will always be an army of people ready to harass and turn in their neighbors.
Many people have wondered in the past how it was possible that the Jews and others were turned in by "regular" neighbors in the countries they lived in. This shows you a perfect example of that type mindset. If we do not intervene in this situation and others like it we will be giving our children a nation of oppressors to contend with.
this should be done away with, not only because of his great service to our country, but because it is further eroding of our freedom.

What I want to know is why there wasn't a single person in Lantana, FL who came to the defense and aid of an American Soldier in his time of need. Is the community now more interested in the rules that govern than compassion and humanity of healthy communities. Kick your neighbor when he is done, instead of offering him a hand to help him up. Be uncompromising to a fault, instead of gracious, understanding, and helpful. Tear down your neighbor, instead of build them up.
Instead of receiving a welcome home greeting from Lantana, FL, this American soldier who is performing a great service to this nation, receives warnings of fix this yesterday, or else?
Instead of looking out for, and after, what is probably most important to this American soldier, they pursue a goal of pettiness and strife. Come now, if this was really important to Lantana, FL I'm sure a couple of big burley men, neah, one burley man could have had this yard fixed in no time flat.
The town of Lantana is the problem, not this American soldier.

Boy, I hope this soldier doesn't actually try to fly a flag in his yard. He'll get busted for that too.

Did a search on the landscaping code for this area.
Section 10.5-25 states that grass must be sodded.(unbelievable)

Another outrage in Florida. You are wrong.
If this had been a drug-dealing anti-Constitution slob, it would STILL be a violation.
A violation is a violation. As a homeowner, I wish to keep the property values in good order in order to prevent a downhill slide and more slobs moving in. That is the purpose of homeowner associations--keeping the standards high.
Just because this happens to be one of the good guys does not change the fact standards and codes must be evenly applied.
You would not be barking like this if the homeowner was Jane Fonda.

Home owners associations and town code enforcers are the worst of the worst. Yea, especially for the slobs who keep their property like a landfill.

We cured Mr. Georges flag problem. His HOA can moan and groan till the cows come home. Case dismissed. Laws rewritten.
The flag he now flys was a gift to him from Jeb and previously flew over the Florida State Capital building. :-)

How does this situation differ from the "legs" guy? The guy who planted a couple of legs in a provocative pose on his private property was pounded here. Many posters were all for government or HOA intervention. Eyesores are subjective things and can push private property rights to the side, especially when CCRs exist..

See, that's just it. When I bought property and built a house on it, I was under the impression that it was mine. Boy, was I wrong. It's actually the POA/HOA and I just get the happiness knowing I am loaned land that I am paying for.
Zero tolerance is for idiots; and yes, common sense isn't common anymore.
