Knowing a little bit about Nigeria, I can report this: upper class Nigerians pretty much never purchase shoes made in Nigeria.

They buy Italian shoes for the most part.

I don't think he meant shoes as an "evil" that was exported. Over priced, and generally in bad taste but hardly the type of evil he was talking about.

Africans have been killing Africans for centuries. Christianity or Europeans did not cause this.
