Props to Dave Mustaine.
If peace sells, who's buying?
I loved that album.

So, does that mean that "Symphony of Destruction" is really, like, about Armageddon or something? Just joking.
Whatever, Mustaine. Christian metal; Black metal. Doesn't matter to me where a band kneels and who it prays to: If the music's good, I bang my head!
NOTE: And I'm a Metallica man, Mustie. Go cry on that.

I'm a huge Megadeth fan. A MD concert remains to this day the only rock concert I've ever attended (I got free tickets from being a college radio DJ--I was supposed to give them away in a contest, but of course kept them for myself). Apart from the superb musical quality of Mustaine's music, I appreciate the thoughtfulness that goes into the lyrics. I don't always agree, but they are always thought-provoking. The most relevant Megadeth song is, I think, Holy Wars: The Punishment is Due. Also know that Megadeth put out its valedictory album in late 2004 (The System Has Failed), and is a great disc that musically travels from thrash-metal (Kick the Chair), to political work (Blackmail the Universe), to historical (Truth Be Told) and finally religiious (My Kingdom).

And here's what frontman Sakis Tolis of the Rotting Christ has said...
"Unfortunately...the reason being our band's name. A name that expresses our opposition to any kind of religion, a name that opposes to any fake visions of an eternal calmness and peace, a name that is a punch at the conservative basis of the hypocritical and religious so-called democratic societies. Why not call yourself "Rotting Mohammed" and see how it flies? People like this douchebag mock Christianity because Christians don't saw heads. Chicken-$#!+

That's really cool, about Dave Mustaine being a Christian and all. I used to listen to Countdown to Extinction when I was twelve and I still like it.

to make a life-altering change and then not have some kind of affect would not have been a change at all, would it?Uncommon common sense.
Tell Jane Fonda.
OK, her and a few million other professing "evangelicals."

I hope Dave Mustaine changes his mind.
John 17
14 I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. 15 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. 17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. 18 As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.
Luke 6
27"But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,"
Dave has a chance to be a light in a dark place. I hope he doesn't miss it.

That Sweating Bullets song was really catchy for a metal song.

Pretty cool ... I remember someone asked Mustaine in a magazine article 'why Megadeth?" and he replied, "Well, we're a metal band, we couldn't call ourselves 'HerbalLIFE!" Maybe he and Alice Cooper should go touring together...

Death metal has pretty much destroyed “Rock” radio stations. Where I live, it’s either boring classic rock or mind-bending, brain-jamming death metal or soupy pop music.
Of course Rap has destroyed anything resembling “soul” music.
I just listen to talk radio now.
