It Is About Religious Belief
washingtionpost.com ^ | 05/14/05 | Tony Perkins

During his nationally televised press conference April 28, President Bush was asked about the Family Research Council's allegation that some of his judicial nominees have been filibustered because of their faith. After considerable probing by MSNBC's David Gregory, the president said he believed that in fact his nominees were being subjected to these stalling tactics not because of their religious beliefs but because of their "judicial philosophy." Well, I agree with the president that some Democratic senators have targeted the judicial philosophy of the nominees. But that judicial philosophy has been scrutinized and scorned in several cases precisely because of the nominee's belief system or faith -- not because of his or her record. After all, it was Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) -- not the Family Research Council -- who launched an inquiry into one key nominee's "deeply held personal beliefs."

I guess according to democratic thinking if you ever teach a Christian Sunday school class you may as well forget about becoming a judge. Wonder what the forefathers of this country would have thought of this?

The devout need not apply.

If that's not religious bigotry, I don't know what is.

Yep... Pyor was criticized much because of his deeply held Catholic beliefs.

I heard Pamela Anderson teaches Sunday School somewhwere.

I think its the content of your Sunday School class that they're worried about.

It’s the content all right, especially if it involves a belief you can make a prayer to God.

Left unchecked, the climate of intimidation against religious voices will empty the public square of many of its most-needed voices. -Tony Perkins

Democrats are in the wrong on this and they will keep losing elections until they change.

I should clarify by adding, if a believing prayer to God is also a belief God can answer prayer whether it’s physical healing, ext., you may as well kiss any endorsement by a liberal or maybe any democratic Senator goodbye.

Constitution, Article 6

The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.

I think they were pretty clear in the issue.

The democrats are always clear in their thinking when they filibuster a judicial nomination.

You and Perkins are correct. If this were about judicial temper, nobody would have been asking Bill Pryor questions about his Disneyworld trip.

Part of this is playing to the Dem base, IMHO. Schumer knws that the MoveOn.org types really do believe in a coming theocracy which can only be forestalled by going McCarty all over any nominee who belongs to any sect more conservative than the Unitarians.

"they will keep losing elections until they change."

and since they don't appear to be attempting to change then they will continue to lose elections...and that's a good thing!

The proverbial liberal tail wagging the dog, left, left, left...

To bad we can't edit our own posts, after the fact, in this forum; but on my post #8 "ext." should be "etc." My typo.

Morality and all of its associated concepts are from the belief some higher power defines what is correct in human behavior. Today, "morals" are a religious pagan philosophy of esoteric hobgoblins. Transfiguration is a pantheon of fantasies as the medium of infinitization. Others get derision for having an unwavering Judaic belief in Yahweh or Yeshua, although their critics and enemies will evangelize insertion of phantasmagoric fetishisms into secular law.

Was Freudian psychoanalytic theory of sexual stages in psychological development more accurate than accredited? The Michael Jackson Complex is fixation on mutilation of and deviance with human anatomy in the media. It is a social psychosis catering to the lowest common denominator and generated with Pavlovian behavioral conditioning in popular culture.

I would think they would be more interested in finding out what was going on at Neverland... (Oh, that's right, I forgot about that DNC funraiser with the Clintongs and Jacko hugging...)

Freudian behavior analysis is finite man explaining his big bang theory. Can’t be done.

The libs must be crapping their collective drawers now. I've no pitty for these dower, secular, selfish idiots. Burn the donks to the ground. They are pathetic.
