Defense plans, center around that fact that Alaska is the Central location to all out lying geographic locations. It does not look good to close down a base that is the strategic center of the free world. Alaska is the closest location to the areas of China and Korea. Two countries that seem to be gearing up for anti Americanism.
I believe in promoting World Peace and in becoming friends with every country in our world. However, we cannot forget that when a person let's his/her guard down an unknown enemy will take advantage of the vulnerability.
