particularly given the new understanding that we thought we had after the re-election of President Bush.”

I wonder why the American people were never told about this new understanding? President Bush mentioned immigration once in February of 2004 and the reaction from his base was so virulent that he did not mention it again until one sentence in the third debate.

This Mexican must be under the mistaken impression that the USA is a dictatorship like Mexico.

I agree and think Bush should be aggressive and forceful
in his relations with Fox. His open borders policy and
de facto amnesty is not only harmful to our country (a
social and economic disaster) but a very real breach of
national security. It's also doing great damage to the
Republican party. The current issue of National Review
has a feature article on illegal immigration. It says,
among many other things, that Hillary can easily capitalize
on it. Here is one quote: "...the only reason Hillary
thinks she has a chance of outflanking the GOP on the
right is that THE PRESIDENT'S IMMIGRATION POLICY IS
TERRIBLE." Bush may be a lame duck and not care but
he's taking all of us out too.
