$10 says it will be a dud and hardly anybody will show up.
Marching on Washington won't do anything. Marching on Mecca will. But they won't do that. Ever.

What does CAIR have to say about that?

This upcoming rally is historic and represents a turning point in the war on terror. The war on terror is an ideological battle and no one is better suited to fight this battle than moderate Muslims. Will you join us on May 14th?
A march is really going to help?

They need to do more than raise their voices and march on DC.

Wonderful idea - I imagine many Muslims would like for Islam to have a more balanced image in Western culture than it currently has.

Oh... well I for one am not. It is definitely a step in the right direction, but time is running out, and baby steps won't cut it anymore. When they march on Mecca, they will get my attention. :)

Agreed.
For you cynical types out there, let's all wait-and-see before throwing the verbal darts.
This is better late than never. It always takes time for silent majorities to find their collective voice and speak with one message. Yeah, it's taken a section of the American Muslim community nearly 4 years to speak out, but with the recent success so far in Afghanistan & Iraq, let's encourage it, not act like whiny DU'ers.

Great post. It's great to see Muslims march against Terror. Interestingly enough - no CAIR at this event
To: Semper Paratus
CAIR is not involved nor have they endorsed the event.

I agree. Muslims do need to speak out more against terrorism.

I have also posted on this event and am excited about the prospect of it. Is this the first event you've heard about Muslims EVER denouncing terrorism since 9/11? It is for me. Does Michael Savage know about it? He's been harping for anything of the like forever. From my experience with the Savage Nation, I doubt that he'd have anything good to say about this anyway. That's just how rotten he is. Most of the replies from my thread have also been negative. I still remain positive. One of my replies: "These first steps to the truth are hard to let Muslims take without confronting them with full blown arguments about the big picture of Islam. Be patient and stand with them now because they're on the right path." I may be too trusting, but I've read parts of freemuslims website
http://www.freemuslims.org/ and I don't get any vibes of deception from them. I do, however, feel like I'm being mislead from the English version of freemuslim.org (singular). The first thing they do at this other website is quote the Koran. Freemuslims.org (plural) doesn't blindly quote Islamic scriptures on their website, in fact they communicate with English and reason. My best sense - and hope - lead me to trust them. I hope they don't let me down.
