"If this comes to the floor, we're going to have a fight," Senator Barbara Boxer said during the committee meeting.

Well, well, well. More from the minority "No" party.
Is there anything pro-American they like? Do they hate everything and everyone in the U.S.? Are they demon possessed or something?
They're telling the American people to stuff it. They want personal political power, and the American people be damned.

"This is good news. If Barbara Boxer is leading the fight, it means it is a fool's errand."

As a dog returns to it's vomit, so does this fool return to her folly.

Asked to assess Bolton's chances of being confirmed, Boxer said, "I think we can definitely beat John Bolton because, I think, the American people are going to weigh in and make their views known."

Cool! A Republican landslide in 2006. I'll take it!!

Democratic party = party of "no"... strikes again.

Hey Babbs Boxer... you're such a bitter beast. Why is it that you always see the glass empty (not even half-full)?

HAHAH! Good idea. Frankly, I just don't care about Bolton's nomination. I care about the judges and, specifically, SCOTUS. It's better for the Dems to be forced to rant and scream over Bolton than to let them have a lull ahead of SCOTUS appointments. Anything that can be done to make *them* look extreme and petty is worth the sacrifice even if it means someone other than Bolton going to the UN. I'm sure Bush could find someone equally qualified and equally as poisonous to that corrupt institution.

I don't think that Mr. Keyes will be available, as I've already wished him on to the Supreme Court....unless he can do both.

I don't believe that Mr. Keyes has much respect for President Bush. He has debased the president more than Democrats. One time he said that President Bush was more dangerous than Clinton, as with Clinton we know what we had.

I was giving Voinovich the finger throughout his "testimony". He said that he met with Bolton for two hours and felt he was a decent man. Then he took the hearsay testimony of what other people (partisan leftists and known liars) thought of Bolton and contradicted what he just stated. What did this as$hole hope to gain by this?

Timing and or printing schedule most likely. [Reason for Bolton's name to not be on the Senate Executive Calendar for the 13th, the day after the committee vote.]

Bolton's name isn't on the calendar printed for May 16th either. I assume therefore that Boxer's hold has some effect.

The Bushbots told us Powell walked on water. What happened?

I can't speak for the other Bushbots, but I never trusted Powell. Moderates or RINO's cannot be trusted to do the right thing at the right time.

Ever since the DUers started sending Boxer flowers for everything she does that meets with their approval, she's been like a raving lunatic in the Senate

This is so true. Boxer seems to forget she represents all of California, not just San Francisco and the wack jobs on the DU. As a Californian, I am embarrassed by this joke of a US Senator and wish she would go run for the SF city council where she belongs.

The Boxer

Before the clearing stands Barb Boxer,

The mean banchee's face is strained,

And it carries the reminder of every evil cut she made or just muttered until she cries out, in her anger and disdain

You are leaving, You are LEAVING, but John Bolton still remains.

Bolton's name isn't on the calendar printed for May 18th either. I'm not motivated to figure out exactly how "hold" is invoked, maintained and broken, but this nomination didn't move quick from committee to calendar.

but this nomination didn't move quick from committee to calendar.

It is mostly likely because of the hold which means in effect the nominee isn't ready for floor action until the hold is resolved or Sen. Frist decides to place the nomination before the Senate on the floor and request a cloture vote. Frist will deal with it in his on way at some point. I think Sen Hatch in the last Congress had to finally get tough with Sen. Durbin or one of them who had continually blocked some nominees in the Judicial committee from having hearings. I think he may have brought the nominee(s) to the committee and overlooked the hold. I don't remember the specifics.
