Serial Killer Michael Ross Executed in Connecticut
(Excerpt) Read more at foxnews.com ...
How is that case coming along?
Do you have any links handy?
Last time I checked was late last year and it was set to proceed in Feb.
Really dumb delays in his trial.
BZZZZT Ping is the bug eliminator.
Go to the light you pesky maggot makers.
LOL
For some reason, I've hardly seen any coverage on Fox News/CNN/msNBC. In this twisted world we live in, more people apparently care whether Michael Jackson will be free to cut another album and sleep with more boys than care whether Alejandro Avila is sentenced to the punishment he deserves for assaulting and killing a sweet little girl named Samantha Runnion.
Since those news networks aren't doing their jobs, I've been going to Google, hitting the "news" button and searching for Samantha Runnion or Avila. Multiple stories then come up from newspapers and TV stations.
The jury convicted the pig, but they've deliberated five and a half hours in the sentencing phase without reaching a decision. They'll continue Monday. They heard very passionate testimony from Samantha's mom. They also heard from witnesses regarding other cases of abuse at the hands of Avila. Like so many, this wasn't his first time harming children. I say it's time for ONE STRIKE, YOU'RE OUT.
CNN now covering te story.
Boy Ross was creepy looking, looks like a homely woman with souless eyes.
I was wondering why the Libs make such a big deal about this particular case. I mean, here you have a guy who could not be worse unless he grew horns and a tail. He committed the worst crimes imaginable and he confessed to them all. There is no doubt about his guilt. Furthermore, he does not object to his sentence.
And on this hill, the Libs decided to die... Why?
There are plenty of "better" cases to protest on America's Death Rows. There are many where you could make an argument, however specious, about innocence. There are others where the condemned is borderline insane or retarded. Still others claim a political justification that can be argued from now until the end of time.
But the Libs spend the last six months fighting the execution of a seven-time serial rapist and killer of young girls who wanted to die. Why?
Then you realize, of course, that it has nothing to do with Michael Ross, the poor girls, or even the death penalty. It has everything to do with the Libs themselves, and their sense of smug superiority. As long as the Death Penalty was confined to Southern backwaters, flyover states, and Texas, Libs could comfort themselves and say that it was a brutal practice of those one-eyed, toothless, cousin fornicators who live in such places.
But now it has happened in Connecticut, where people are supposed to know better. Sweet Connecticut, the Nutmeg State, the very castle keep of self absorbed, insulated, suburban Liberalism. How could such a thing happen there, and what does it say about them? Does that mean they have one-eyed, toothless, cousin fornicating tendencies themselves?
Once you realize that Lib objections to this execution is all about the Libs themselves and their own delusions about their self-image, the angst over this case becomes easier to understand. People do not like to have their protective fantasies punctured, and this case has done just that.
Christianity is based on the notions of human fallibility and divine mercy. Don't get me wrong, I'd want him to die, dragged kicking and screaming, if necessary. Only God can judge him now. If there is such a thing a redemption, Ross may be a candidate.
Last fall, he announced he was abandoning all remaining appeals which could have kept him alive for many years because his victims' families had suffered enough.
"I owe these people. I killed their daughters. If I could stop the pain, I have to do that. This is my right," the former insurance agent and Cornell University graduate said. "I don't think there's anything crazy or incompetent about that."
I'm glad he's dead, I wish dozens more could join them. Their ultimate fate is a matter between them and God.
Give him credit, he's not like those characters who found God and God told them He wanted them to live to atone for their sins.
Great! if every other person on death row at this very minute could be done in the same way sometime today that'll clear up space for all other child molesters and rapists. All those scum lowlifes deserve the same fate ASAP!
Let's hope Cedric Cobb is next!
We can only hope.
Your right, pretty freaky stuff. We should be executing these guys like firecrackers in a monkey barrel.
I dont want creeps like this near my house.
Let's execute and take the "Cereal" out of serial killers LOL
What happened to sure and certain punishment? He was allowed to live off the public for 18 years, 17 too many.
It's called Capital PUNISHMENT and it's well named.
People like that DISGUST me, and need to be slapped upside their heads with their Bibles.
Sheesh....they hold a vigil against the death penalty for a tried/convicted/confessed killer, TOTALLY FORGETTING THE VICTIMS WHO FACED A DEATH PENALTY.
After much contemplation, I've decided I'm against it. I just can't get past the idea of giving the state power of life and death over it's citizens.
They do me too. I don't understand it.
Dzung Ngoc Tu was my Vassar College freshman roommate.
I was at the prison last night with her brother, Lan Tu.
You should have seen the relief on the faces of the families when it was announced Ross was dead.
I went to the prison last night with Lan Tu, the brother of Dzung Tu. Dzung was Ross's first victim and also my Vassar College freshman roommate.
I met Edwin Shelley after the execution.... he was a happy man. Practically doing a jig.
