The press has been so focused on the setbacks in Iraq that few readers are likely to know about the daily parade of small triumphs.
Picks up chin off the floor.
I'm stuned!
Circulation must be way down.
Is this hidden in the obituary column?
With you on that reaction. There must be more to their motives than meets the eye?
Dunno. I bookmarked it for posterity. I e-mailed it out to friends. I read somewhere on here the Times was having some sort of a meeting last week about their reporting, anonymous sources, etc. I don't pay attention to much of anything the Times says, this caught me completely off guard. I had to read it twice to make sure it wasn't them backstabbing the troops some more.
Some time ago I had written to the Public Editor complaining about the Times's lack of coverage for good news. No doubt many others have done the same. This article could well represent his contribution to fairness at the NYT.
They slowly discovered that being communist stooges was not a money maker. Imagine that!
Looks like a paid ad to me
Nice find.
lp, pinging you
Thanks. On my way out the door. Read later.
What is the New York Times trying to do, become an actual newspaper after all these years?
Yep, the New York Times is saying they're just a corrupt liberal news outlet--but, wait, we're just like all the others. Oh, no, wait, we're not that bad, and to prove it we'll run this display piece showing progress in Iraq.
Doesn't sell. Sorry, it cannot even begin to wash over the crap this paper has been putting out for days, weeks, months on our fighting men and women.
Even TODAY they run a piece entitled "Bombs Kill 21 and Hurt 70 in Baghdad.
What hypocracy. They're disgusting.
