I dont think the President micromanages the Border Patrol like Johnson and McNamara did to DoD in VietNam.

THis was an inexcusable local face saving move, for the Tucson and Naco sector chiefs who derided the Minutemen. Since the Minutemen did a a good job with their publicity, they have to prove the Minutemen wrong; even if it means not arresting anyone for months on end, to show the numbers were lower due to other reasons than the Minutemen.

So was it the "Tucson and Naco BP supervisors" that proposed that the US grant Amnesty to Illegal Aliens?

How does the border patrol arresting fewer people after the fact prove the minutmen wrong ?

Arresting fewer people before the fact could possibly prove the minutmen wrong, but not afterwards.

If anything, it would prove the minutemen right.
