That's exactly what it is. But the blinders are starting to come off. ....ever so slowly.

It wasn't that long ago that most Southern conservatives voted Democrat (out of habit/tradition), so a complete political turnaround isn't exactly unprecedented. It'll take some time, however.

Living in NYC, I've seen enough anti-war rallies to know 3 things are always guaranteed.

1)They will call Bush Hitler.

2)They will burn an American Flag.

3)They will burn an Israeli flag.

Up until very recently, It was inconceivable to hear americans ever chant death to another country.

Even when we were at our angriest, even with France, it never happened.

But during the GOP convention, I witnessed a "peace protest" with a considerable group chanting "Death to Israel".

And I can assure you, those folks were not republican.

Jackie has been such a big supporter of our President. But, I must say that the most humorous thing about him is that the longer he lives in America, the thicker his accent becomes.

As a Jewish Freeper once told me (along with an a** chewing for a insensitive comment I made) "There are no such thing as liberal Jews. There are secular Liberals of Jewish descent, however." The same applies to the so-called pro choice Catholics IMHO.

Right before the Presidential election, I got up enough nerve to ask a Jewish friend his opinions on why most Jews vote D and he really surprised me with his insight. He, too, does not understand why every Jew doesn't love President Bush for what he is doing for Peace. I was happy to hear what actually is going on in his Temple and he invited me for a visit if it would help see how the "smart" Jews really feel. His words not mine. I haven't been yet but surely hope to soon. Plan to print this article and give it to him. Thanks for the post.

This is an excellent and provocative commentary. Reform Jews and non-religious Jews always stumped me. This article sheds light on why they so blindly adore the demodimwits.

This same reason can also explain why people of color remain beholden to the demodimwit party -- even though they should not any longer.

Thanks so much for your comments. If enough American Jewish people see columns like this one, maybe we can help the tide to change. If they REALLY gave it some thought, they would realize the truth of what Mason & Felder are trying to tell them.............that the Dem. Party cares about as much for them (and Israel) as they care about their solid African American voting block.......which is nil.....only obligatory church attendance during election cycles.

I wonder if they visit synagogues with the same frequency.

Having grown up around these people I can say with authority: Jewish liberals are the most foolish people on earth. Frankly, any Jew who either deviates from Torah or grows up without it ends up in some tragically misguided direction. (Ex: Karl Marx, Leon Trotsky, etc.)

I know plenty of non-religious Jews who vote GOP.

As anti-tax, pro-personal reponsibility, pro-2nd Amendment, and pro-military folks they have no other choice (within the two-party system).

And because the Jew spends his life fighting for acceptance and respect by making more and more money so that he can have the longest boat, the most modern kitchen, the most marbled toilets, the deepest swimming pool, the biggest house with the highest ceiling, he is tormented by a guilt-ridden conscience that taught him a good Jew does not spend his life pursuing greed and opportunism, and that a selfish life is a wasted one.

Because a Jew is always struggling to overcome his fear of worthlessness, he spends his time finding ways to prove he not only has a big fortune, but that he has an even bigger heart. That is why when he gives to charities, such as a hospital that will put his name on it. He becomes a member of a club where there are special events where his charity will be announced. He joins a temple were a rabbi will give him a special seat next to the Holy Torah.

Wow, this deserves a bump.
