Maybe it was that vague "secular matters" thing in the wording - I'm sure that an LCMS pastor, while holding the Bible to be inerrant, would say that it is not a source from which to learn refrigeration repair.

That wording is just like the polls on the net. The pollster can word the questions to get the desired results.

Like the one about

"changing the Senate rules to end filibusters"

rather than asking

"to continue the Senate traditions of the past 214 years of allowing an up or down vote".
