I imagined he never really tried to milk a horse. And then there's the visual of mistaking an udder for a neutered animal. Not gonna happen. Maybe one of hubby's distant, one-eyebrowed cousins would be that stupid. But that's another story.
'...personal experiences and fantasies to it....'
Hello? I have no animalist fantasies!
WHY, in your mind, does the joke continue on (after the cow to horse transition), and say 'a MALE horse'
Because generally, male animals do not produce appreciable amounts of milk. Therefore, the fella was so clueless, he had both the species and gender in error.
Ohfercryinoutloud!
Just when I thought it was over, and had changed taglines. Oh well, time to change it back.
No way.
Mine is: Many still coming to grips with "Milking the Horse"
Most of us who have male horses have geldings... it's rare folk who have stallions around... And even so... male horses are not stimulated by handling them, as horse owners who have to clean them from time to time know.... so the idea of getting anything out of the average male horse is, well, preposterous! That's why it was a joke.
...she must mean, the sex organ.
The reason the joke was funny was not because a stallion has a "sex organ." It was funny because a stallion has no udder--not even that of a mare, and certainly not that of a cow.
But thank you for perfectly illustrating my point regarding prudes, minds, and gutters.

Thanks for posting this article. It is a very good article. It's a shame so many here just don't get it.
I have been out of town for a couple of days, so I'm late to respond.
"Said by somebody who loves Laura Bush."
I think that most of us who have criticized Laura feel the same way. She had been a very classy lady, one to be proud of. Her choice of comedy was a disappointment not only because she had always shown more class than that, but because she is representing herself as the first lady. That calls for exemplary behavior.
